War of the monster ps2 game

Throw it, steal it in air, grab opponents, and kick butt are all easy learning controls. The creativity of the moves, and how you can stomp on people and blast buildings apart are very cool. Then you have the Energy and Health pick ups. The taunt-then-have-extra-power-until-your-energy-runs-out is very cool. Then the enemy AI is very well-put and adjustable.

AI is splendid. If it looks destructible, it most likely is. Ending movies make sense to the monster creation. Con's- When you put AI difficulty up, be prepared immediately!!

Mini-games hard to grasp at first. Read full review. War of the Monsters is a great game. It is very much like an updated version of the old arcade game Rampage. There is a mission mode, which is ok, and theres a 2 player mode, which is awesome. You can select from a number of large monsters and fight in a city. The cities are completely interactive. You can pick up cars and throw them and you can climb and destroy buildings until the entire city is leveled.

The more missions you play, the more levels and characters you can unlock. You can also unlock several minigames, which can be pretty entertaining. Many times this transition can cause slight disorientation and force you to change the direction you are trying to go on the controller.

This is probably the worst part about the control of the game. But overall it is a very good game. Even after you have unlocked everything it is still fun to play in 2 player mode for hours. The completely destructable environments, great monster choices, Rhodan, Godzilla, King Kong without them being Rhodan, Godzilla, King Kong and fast gameplay make this a top game.

The only things that kind of limit the game are the small environments, the action is too "fast" making the game feel like it isn't as epic as it could be. Ah, the sounds of bustling traffic, people conducting business, a foot praying mantis throwing a giant electrified eyeball through a skyscraper. That's life in the big city folks'you never know what's going to happen next. This unpredictability is exactly what makes this game so much fun.

War of the Monsters is a 'B'? Players choose from an initial list of eight different monsters during the one player game and pummel their way across the globe in an action packed display of carnage and insurance adjuster nausea. Players might remember the 80' arcade hit ' Rampage '?

In War of the Monsters, players pick their monster and go at it tooth and nail with the city getting caught in the middle. What makes for so much fun is that the cities themselves are alive with activity, cars zip by, people run for their lives, helicopters float about, and best of all, it's completely interactive. Imagine fighting against some giant robot in the middle of Las Vegas and you picking up a fire engine to hurl at your foe, or ripping the radio antennae off a skyscraper and using it as a spear.

In any full 3D combat game, targeting can sometimes be a difficulty, and in War of the Monsters, that manifests as an irritating inability to switch cleanly between targets. Fights soon degenerate into a short-range melee where you slug it out with blows and the occasional throw move.

There is no balance, and button-bashers will feel right at home as you soon realise there is little room for tactics or skill. User Reviews. Write a Review.

Positive: 40 out of Mixed: 3 out of I have played a demo of it, which came in the last issue of OPM along with a full feature story and the above review. This game is amazing!! Think Rampage on steroids. What is really fun so far is the 2 player part of the game The best graphics ps2 had to offer!
